Nick, George, Steve and newcomer Billy joined Ed and I today for a deep water open boat Fluke Trip. Loved the forecast for today so asked the guys to get to the boat around 5:30 to get an early start. Returned to the spots we were at yesterday but had to abandon due to the hard easterly weather. Bounced around many different areas of rough stuff all day long picking fish in patches. Nick was on fire pulling 13 keepers including 7lb and 10lb, 29″ doormats. George was also in good form as a result of snapping his Jets rods (time to become a Giants fan buddy) boxing most of his 8 keepers on his Bogan rod. With Nick done, Steve and Eddie would put the final nail on the coffin, with a pair of keepers, Eddie’s going 6lbs. The guys would go on to catch 31 keepers up to 10lbs, only keeping our legal boat limit of 30. 2 Sea Bass added to the table fare. Quite a few quality fluke 4lbs or better were taken (1st row of deck shot). Left them biting. Too bad this wasn’t a Tournament day. The guys went home with plenty of white meat today. Hopefully the best is still yet to come, I am very excited. Don’t wait to get out.
