October 02, 2010 Night Striper Worming

Decided to take advatage of the weather window Saturday evening and go looking for Stripers. My friend and John (semperfly) and mate Marc joined me. Left the dock around 8pm and was back at the dock as the NE winds really started to crank just after midnight.

Had great marks but couldn’t get the fish to bite. All we could muster were 5 bass, only one keeper pictured which was 33″ forked tail length. All fish were released and four were tagged for the American Littoral society. Everything came on sandworms, however we got some bumps on eels but never came tight on any of them. Slow night of fishing but felt good to be targeting the Stripers again.

All the fish were purple, no sea lice so hopefully this is the leading edge of the Fall run.
