August 1, 2010 Oliver Lee Sea Bass, Porgy & Blackfish

Hosted Oliver Lee and friends on the NETKEEPER on Thursday for some bottom fishing.Went East looking for Porgys where we had them on our last Porgy trip and they were nowhere to be found. Move to another piece and anchored in a 2 knot current where we typically get them and were only able to pull 5 before going looking for Sea Bass. Read them very well but they refused to bite.Hit a spot on the Sandy Hook Reef where we pulled a few keeper Sea Bass and a 5# keeper Tog. We threw back from that piece, toy Togs, short Cod & Fluke as well.Went further South and anchored on a few rock piles where the guys pulled well over 100 Sea Bass but were only able to box two dozen of them. We had some good periods of drop and reel fishing for 2 hours with the majority of the fish between 10 & 12 inches. The hard SW made drifiting tough so we resorted to anchoring most of the day.
