On Saturday 6/13 NetKeeper Sportfishing hosted the Bobby Watson Charter (Chris, John & Ben) for a Striped Bass Livelining and Mixed Bag trip. On Saturday dsicussed the recent slow Striper fishing with Bobby and offerred a chance to reschedule. Itching to get out an fish they wanted to give it a go anyway. Headed South 25 miles south and finally found a nervous Bunker Pod just south of Shark River Inlet. One throw of the net and we loaded the livewell and then started fishing te pod. First bait in the water got crashed with white water and came back half scaled. Shortly thereafter, a bait pitched into the pod was taken by a 26# (unofficial on the Boga) Striper and another 30# (unofficial on the Boga) was hooked up after getting back on the pod and that was it.
Tried to fish a few spots on the way back North. Fought Blues at the rocks and then decided to go bottom fishing. With the slow drift and a little more than a dozen clams onboard, we finished the day Sea Bass fishing where the guys boxed 22 keepers and tossed back many shorts as well as tog and short cod.
Great Bunch of guys who fished hard all day. Went the extra mile covering 70 miles of water today for them and enjoyed every minute.
